History
At the Heart of the Community......
From very humble beginnings in the Oratory, then the Harbour Road to the present premises in Newry Street, we now have our offices in one of the finest buildings in Kilkeel.
We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to the founder members who had the vision, foresight and commitment to start the Credit Union in 1968 and get it off the ground.
We also owe immense gratitude to all directors, supervisors and staff through those more than 50 years who gave so much time and energy to the Credit Union.
The Credit Union is an important financial institution and is very much part of the fabric of our local community.
The members are given the opportunity to be part of a financial co-operative, where they can save and borrow. It is to our members that we owe the greatest gratitude. They have shown loyalty by staying with us, by telling others about the benefits of being in the Credit Union thus ensuring that the membership continues to grow.
